“Home?” I was not beautiful. Well, maybe a little. Enough to get the occasional girl to give me smile. But certainly not a chorus of girls. And certainly not in consecutive days. Just the occasional smile. From the occasional girl. Good enough for me. Sure.

“Why?”

“Well. Jim’s gone…”

“He’ll be back.”

“I know. In like four hours. But I’ve been here a while. So, I probably need to go home. You know. To sort of like reset.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know…”

“Is reset code for washing up? Maybe getting some clean clothes?”

“Right. Exactly. You get it.” I nodded, ready to be on my way.

“Well. You can do those things here.” She put her hands on her hips, ready to stop me.

“Oh. Really? Um. Yeah. Okay. Still. I probably should go.”

“Okay, sure. I get it.” She really fired up those fiery ice-blue eyes and blasted me, adding a sharp crossing of her arms to boot. It was scary. Or just petrifyingly stunning, especially when her arms constricted her shapely body, in particular, her rather big boobs. “Why in the world would you want to stay here? I mean, if Jimmy’s gone, why would you want to stay here with just me? Jim’s boring old mom?”

“Um. No. It’s not like that. Really, Liz. It’s just the reset thing. Otherwise, um, sure, I would stay here. With you.” I smirked. Maybe not the best thing to do when trying to convince somebody of something.

“Sure…” She glared at me.

There, they could plot out their next move. And start a life, anew. With Eric’s father and Sabrina’s husband finally gone, completely out of the picture.
